Goofballs and More Found Audio!
It’s time for visiting family, being cold and trying not to go insane. (Good luck.)
To provide a salve to the upcoming holiday madness I have some crumbs from my comedy table for you:
First off, nice juxtaposition:
(actual screencap
from BoingBoing)
BoingBoing has been rife
with ads about the BB Storm (the iPhone killer,
donchaknow.) But sometimes that ad placement can be a
bitch. Particularly when it shows that fancypants
Brit comedian Stephen Fry hates the crappy new
RIM-bomination. It’s commonly understood that I’m an
Apple Fanboy, but once people start making the
“Item-X” killer, then it’s already too late to kill
Item-X. It has become the new standard by which
things are measured. Was there ever an iPod killer?
The Zune? Hello? Anyone? But I digress.
I have a new clip up on
Found Audio! And for anyone who
has ever worked with a voice actor or in radio
production, it’s a classic.
Enjoy.
Finally, why is this snowman so intent on committing
suicide?
So to clarify, if you are
a sentient living snowman with a lemon(?) for a nose,
then your natural instinct will be to murder yourself
with a boiling hot cup of Dr. Pepper with a lemon
slice floating in it. If you’ve ever opened a Dr.
Pepper that’s been sitting on your dash in July and
taken a big swig of it, then you pretty much have an
idea of how vile this concoction must be. That
snowman’s smile made of raisins(?) will soon collapse
to the ground in a puddle of sizzling steam with a
tophat and scarf.
Merry Xmas everybody! Sheesh.
New Found Audio! Bad Sounds
Some Jingle Jangle Morning
Instead of finding another job I should dick around on the internet, no?
And so I shall. I finally took the initiative to kick off a pet project of mine. And we all know how my pet web projects work out (See: The Food Museum).
Nonetheless, click on this link to my new Tumblr blog dedicated to one thing and one thing only: FOUND AUDIO!
One of the hundreds of absurdly heavy and awkward boxes moved from Omaha to Austin contained my cassette collection. There's a lot. Lots of mixtapes, oddball audio, and random crap that I've had on unmarked audiocassettes for years. Unreleased stuff from great bands you've never heard, remixes, me doodling on keyboards, sequencers and guitars. Just like Bob Mould without the talent part.
Anyway, please enjoy my new semi-regular feature: FOUND AUDIO!
And if you have any suggestions, requests or formatic
concepts for it, leave 'em in the comments. Or call
me. I mean, let's not pretend that most of you don't
already have my number.
Thanks, and huzzah.
